A new Flyspray task has been opened. Details are below.

User who did this - Baptiste Jonglez (bjonglez)

Attached to Project - LEDE Project
Summary - DNS infrastructure for lede-project.org: no redundancy
Task Type - Bug Report
Category - Other
Status - Unconfirmed
Assigned To -
Operating System - All
Severity - Medium
Priority - Very Low
Reported Version - Trunk
Due in Version - Undecided
Due Date - Undecided
Details - The NS servers for the lede-project.org domain lack redundancy, because they are both in the same AS (even the same IP prefix).

ns1.bytecamp.net → 212.204.60.4  2a01:a380:4408:bc:53::1
ns2.bytecamp.net → 212.204.49.83 2a01:a380:4408:bc:53::2

The IP prefixes are the same for both NS: http://bgp.he.net/net/212.204.32.0/19 for IPv4 and http://bgp.he.net/net/2a01:a380::/32 for IPv6.

So, a network outage would take both NS down, making the whole lede-project.org domain unusable.

At a minimum, secondary DNS servers in another network should be added, or the domain should be hosted by a more serious provider.
