[FS#83] BTHOMEHUBV5A logical switch ports don't reflect real-life physical labels

A new Flyspray task has been opened. Details are below.

User who did this - James Finnie (jimbof)

Attached to Project - LEDE Project
Summary - BTHOMEHUBV5A logical switch ports don't reflect real-life physical labels
Task Type - Feature Request
Category - Kernel
Status - Unconfirmed
Assigned To -
Operating System - All
Severity - Very Low
Priority - Very Low
Reported Version - Trunk
Due in Version - Undecided
Due Date - Undecided
Details - The switch port numbers in LEDE / OpenWRT do not correspond to the physical ports, which is confusing to an end user.

This is the current layout
Switch Physical
4 LAN 1
1 LAN 4
0 LAN 3
2 LAN 2
5 WAN
3 n/a
6 CPU

There are sound PCB layout reasons why you wouldn't necessarily follow the most obvious numbering scheme, and in any case
switch port 3 can't be used at all - as per all Gigabit implementations on this SoC, so I understand. Its presence further confuses matters.

One potential solution was discussed here on the OpenWRT mailing list, but didn't seem to get anywhere:

https://lists.openwrt.org/pipermail/openwrt-devel/2015-December/037976.html
"This patch adds devicetree aliases support, which makes it possible to
renumber the physical mac ports.

This change has only cosmetical reasons (e.g. appearance in swconfig,
kernel messages on link change).
