hostap_pci and Prism 2.5 and Linux kernel

Hello,

I use:

kernel 2.6.32-573.3.1.el6.x86_64 (Centos 6.7)
hostap_pci (Intersil Corporation ISL3874 [Prism 2.5]/ISL3872 [Prism 3])

..and everything seems to work, but...

1. My logs are nowadays full of
...
...

...

2. ifconfig wifi0 shows nowadays no TX packets

3. /proc/net/hostap/wlan0 is nowadays /proc/net/hostap/wlan%d

The question is, is the hostap_pci unmaintained or just too old and I
should to switch to some newer/different hardware to get all those
things to work as they did in the past?
