Disable bgscan during wpa_supplicant is running

I just compiled and tested bgscan functionality of wpa_supplicant.

I decided to use bgscan simple.

But is it possible to disable bgscan during wpa_supplicant is running or have I to restart it and modify (remove bgscan simple entry) the config file again?
