hostapd_cli deauthenticate, disassociation won't work

Hi there!
I have an embedded linux (3.0.35) ath9k driver and fresh hostapd.
hostapd is configured to use nl80211 driver.

When I try to disassociate or deauthenticate a sta with hostapd_cli it says OK, but nothing happens on sta.
I have read something that these functions works for testing purposes only, aren't they?

How could I deauth a sta properly?
