Extending legacy wpa_supplicant to support 802.11u through Control Interface.

Hi,

Our aim is to develop an Android Gingerbread/ICS application to support 802.11u.

Android GB for instance, packages wpa_supplicant v0.6.10, which lacks support for 802.11u.

We want to understand if it is feasible to extend the functionality of the legacy wpa_supplicant via the control (wpa_ctrl) interface.

Any help / information / pointers from this forum would be highly appreciated.
