WPA in adhoc network

Dear Friends
    We are having a network in adhoc mode and we are looking for a way to 
secure it using a shared group key better than WEP.
If we can set up WPA in our devices it would be great. We are using openwrt in 
our ubiquiti bullets and currently there are 6 nodes in our MANET.

So can you please tell whether WPA is feasible in adhoc mode and if so kindly 
give some directions to go forward.
