In general, I try to include only things that are more or less stable in
defconfig and libnl 2.0 has not been released and at this point I do not
even have any idea whether the API would remain the same as it is in the
development tree (which is not even available at the moment and has not
been for past weeks). As such, I don't think it would be a good idea to
try to use libnl 2.0 and expect that it just works. If someone wants to
experiment with it, I'm sure they can figure out what needs to be done
and hopefully they are also able to modify the code if the API changes
again.
As far as any real hostapd/wpa_supplicant use is concerned, libnl 1.1
should provide all the needed functionality and I don't see much point
in moving into anything newer before libnl 2.0 has been released.
