Thanks for pointing that out! The error was my crda udev rule located
in the wrong directory, moving it back to the goold one did fix the
scan.
I wrongly assumed CRDA was working since it did not receive any error
message (of course there wasn't since it wasn't told to execute
/sbin/crda).
Note for myself: double check where Portage installs files for unstable ebuilds!
