OK. I'm a bit biased as far as unsolicited status messages popping up on
the screen are concerned since I think most of them are there just to
distract me from whatever I was doing.. ;-)

Since the behavior of the close button changed from the previous
version, users may be surprised of the program remaining running and as
such, I can see the desire to make it clear to the user what happened.
If there is CPU and GPU resources to waste, some kind of animation of
the window moving into the tray without any text could be ideal, but I
don't know whether there is any standard functionality in Qt/KDE for
such a thing. Barring that, having a minimal text notification sounds
reasonable.

Applied. I think this takes care of the original intent in a clearer and
less distracting way.
