Hostapd WPA2 and XP Supplicant

It looks like im getting no beacon frames from hostapd with the ralink 
rt73usb. Ive seen other posts about beacon frames not working with 
ralink but most are old and I presumed the problem has been fixed.

  Should I find new hardware ?
