Hi,

thanks for the tip, BUT:

I've changed the PSK on both, the AP and the STA to "1234567890123",
made a "wpa_passphrase my_private_ap 1234567890123" and filled the
result on the server in hostapd.conf "wpa_psk" and on the client in the
wpa_supplicant.conf "psk".

Same result.

On the STA I get the following messages in /var/log/messages:
SoftMAC: Open Authentication completed with 00:60:b3:4e:f6:db
SoftMAC: Authentication timed out with 00:60:b3:4e:f6:db

The MAC is the MAC of my AP.

But in /var/log/daemon.log on the AP I only see:
hostapd: ath0: STA 00:90:96:b8:23:53 IEEE 802.11: associated
hostapd: ath0: STA 00:90:96:b8:23:53 IEEE 802.11: deauthenticated due to
local deauth request
hostapd: ath0: STA 00:90:96:b8:23:53 IEEE 802.11: disassociated

The MAC is the MAC of my STA.

What else can I do?

Just for information: With an open AP (without hostapd) I can connect
without problems.
