Which chipset supports ap_scan=1 best?

Hello,

We are using wpa_supplicant with Madwifi 0.9.3 and ap_scan=2. We are  
having trouble getting our mobile platform to roam correctly between  
access points because Madwifi doesn't switch APs until it has  
completely lost signal with the previous AP.

We are considering switching wireless chipsets from Atheros to  
something else, which would hopefully handle roaming better and allow  
us to use ap_scan=1, which would let us more actively control roaming.

Does anyone have any recommendations?
