Dear Users,
iam still trying to associate with a sinus speedport wlan router
without success. the accesspoint is offering the following options:
gianna:/home/sb# iwlist wlan0 scanning
wlan0 Scan completed :
Cell 01 - Address: 00:12:BF:7F:B5:82
ESSID:"WLAN-7FB531"
Mode:Master
Frequency:2.472 GHz
Encryption key:on
IE: IEEE 802.11i/WPA2 Version 1
Group Cipher : CCMP
Pairwise Ciphers (1) : CCMP
Authentication Suites (1) : PSK
the important part in /etc/wpa_supplicant.conf is:
network={
ssid="WLAN-7FB531"
id_str="grassau"
psk="passwort"
key_mgmt=WPA-PSK
proto=WPA2
Kernel 2.6.18 Etch dmesg says:

I start wpa_supplicant for debugging with -d -d manual:
/sbin/wpa_supplicant -W -P /var/run/wpa_supplicant.wlan0.pid -i wlan0 -D
wext -c /etc/wpa_supplicant.conf -C /var/run/wpa_supplicant -d -d
after wpa_supplicant is up and waiting for the control instance i
start them too.:
/sbin/wpa_cli -B -P /var/run/wpa_action.wlan0.pid -i wlan0
-p /var/run/wpa_supplicant -a /sbin/wpa_action
now i get the following error message (more below)...
--snip--

ioctl[SIOCSIWFREQ]: Invalid argument
Association request to the driver failed
Setting authentication timeout: 5 sec 0 usec

Any ideas?
Greetings
