wpa_cli can all a script when link goes up or down.
This is perfect for Gentoo as services can then be started or stopped
depending on runlevel and the net dependency being satisfied. We rely
on various small daemons to do things like this and just call our net
scripts. Makes it very easy to integrate alternative software and new
interface daemons, such as ifplugd vs netplugd.

You're just looking at it from the perspective of NetworkManager
controlling everything, which is fair enough as I think you're it's
main author.

That reminds me, can I bug you off list about how to integrate dhcpcd
into NetworkManager so it could optionally be used instead of dhclient?

Thanks

Roy
