Hi,

I have receive the latest Dell 9400 (E1705) equipped with a Dell Wireless
1500 Mini PCI Card.

I attempted to install it under linux without success so far. I have tried
with the bcm43xx driver, which didn't recognize the card.

I have used the Dell Windows XP Broadcom driver with ndiswrapper and
wpa_supplicant (my network is WPA-EAP Enterprise).

  I am using ndiswrapper 1.25 and wpa_supplicant 0.5.5

When I load ndiswrapper I have no error and I am presented with a list of
supported encryption WPA TKIP is present inside that list (which is what I
need).

  I then start wpa_supplicant with -d -Dndiswrapper -iwlan0
-c/etc/wpa_supplicant/wpa_supplicant.conf and fire up the wpa_gui software
(really nice btw).

The software detect my card and scan all wireless network. I configured
my network and I then get an error:

"Association request to the driver failed"

Some investigation in the output of wpa_supplicant reveal this: "Driver
does not support WPA.".

I am using the latest kernel 2.6.17-gentoo-r8.

I am actually surprise to see this >doesn't support WPA line because I
read over the web that many user have successfully got wpa_supplicant with
ndiswrapper + windows driver "bcmwl5", and that is the same as I am using.

Any hints as to what is going on, I can provide testing support for this
and also attempt all idea that you may throw which make sense.
