Scalability and Throughput of HostAPD

I was unable to search the mailing list archives so forgive me if this
question has been asked before. (is archive search broken?
http://hostap.epitest.fi/htdig/ doesn't work).
 
Can anyone give me performance and scalability numbers for HostAPD.  How
many concurrent connections is it known to support well and what kind of
throughput can it acheive under load?
