Router accepts but client doesn't seem to know

Hello,

I can not connect. When I look at the router's log I see that the
connection was indeed accepted but my PC doesn't seem to understand -- I
just get the error message "timed out".

I run Gentoo Linux on an AMD64 and lspci returns the following:

    05:06.0 Ethernet controller: Atheros Communications, Inc. AR5212
802.11abg NIC (rev 01)
