Connection breaks while using bittorrent

Hallo there,
I'm rather unexperienced with wpa_supplicant - using it for two days now.
My setup is as follows:
Access point is a "AVM Fritz!Box Fon 7050" (running linux, don't know much
about it), WPA (1) encryption.
On the client side, I'm using a Centrino 2 notebook with ipw3945 chipset and
the latest driver + wpa_supplicant 0.5.2.
I have been using this driver and the access point for some weeks with WEP128
(and without wpa_supplicant) without any problems (although I didn't use
bittorrent during that time, I'll try this later).
Now that I put WPA encryption (and therefore wpa_supplicant) into place, I
experience sudden connection breaks while using bittorrent. I didn't notice
any problems until today, when I wanted to download a file via Azureus (a
Java bittorrent client).
Sorry, I just don't know where to look at, so I'll post some logs... I found
the following in dmesg:
...
TKIP: ICV error detected: STA=00:04:0e:7e:7a:58

and this pattern repeated. As soon as I shutdown Azureus, it's over, and the
connection is stable again.
The wpa_cli says the following (while running azureus):
