Hi,

As I mentioned in an earlier mail I am not able to install HostAP for the
Senao NL-2511CL PCMCIA-card. Early I was making a silly mistake -
installing hostap_pci instead of hostap_cs

I have RedHat Enterprise v.3 2.4.21-4.EL

I am now installing hostap_cs and my kernel has built in PCMCIA support.
So I do a make on the driver and a make install and I can see hostap_cs.o
in the /lib/modules/2.4.21-14/pcmcia/ directory.

Now when I run cardmgr, I get the response:

cardmgr[7243]: no pcmcia driver in /proc/devices

On running insmod hostap_cs I get the error:

Using /lib/modules/2.4.21-4.ELcustom-Apr-2006-2/pcmcia/hostap_cs.o
/lib/modules/2.4.21-4.ELcustom-Apr-2006-2/pcmcia/hostap_cs.o: unresolved
symbol pcmcia_release_io_R85811b6a
/lib/modules/2.4.21-4.ELcustom-Apr-2006-2/pcmcia/hostap_cs.o: unresolved
symbol hostap_set_multicast_list_queue

And when I do modprobe hostap_cs

/lib/modules/2.4.21-4.ELcustom-Apr-2006-2/kernel/drivers/pcmcia/ds.o:
init_module: Operation not permitted
Hint: insmod errors can be caused by incorrect module parameters,
including invalid IO or IRQ parameters.
You may find more information in syslog or the output from dmesg
/lib/modules/2.4.21-4.ELcustom-Apr-2006-2/kernel/drivers/pcmcia/ds.o:
insmod
/lib/modules/2.4.21-4.ELcustom-Apr-2006-2/kernel/drivers/pcmcia/ds.o
failed
/lib/modules/2.4.21-4.ELcustom-Apr-2006-2/kernel/drivers/pcmcia/ds.o:
insmod hostap_cs failed

Here is the output from dmesg:

Linux Kernel Card Services 3.1.22
   options: [pci] [cardbus] [pm]
ds: no socket drivers loaded!
unloading Kernel Card Services

Could anyone please help me with this? Is it because there is not entry
for Senao 2511CD in /etc/pcmcia/hostap_cs.conf? If so, could some guide me
as to how these entries are made?

Thanks
Sharad.
