wpa_supplicant 0.4.6 not working on ipw2200 with 2.6.14

I am having trouble with wpa_supplicant 0.4.6 with the 2.6.14 kernel 
under Fedora Core 4 with ipw2200 1.0.8 and ieee80211 1.1.6. Under 2.6.13 
it worked fine with the same driver versions.

wpa_supplicant is set to use the "wext" driver. When wpa_supplicant 
starts up, I get some of these:

ioctl[SIOCSIWENCODEEXT]: Invalid argument

and then

Any ideas?
