WPA-PSK with madwifi with hostapd not working

Hi,

I'm trying to get WPA-PSK with TKIP to work on my system, set up as an
access point. I'm using the latest stable version of hostapd, and a
relatively recent version of madwifi. I'm trying to use a winxp machine
to attach to this system. It seems like the client authenticated but the
key couldn't be added to the system. Any ideas on what might be wrong?

Here is the conf file:
interface=ath1
ssid=RTK_AP36
wpa=1
driver=madwifi
wpa_passphrase=********
wpa_key_mgmt=WPA-PSK
wpa_pairwise=TKIP
wpa_group_rekey=600
wpa_gmk_rekey=86400
debug=1
