How to hide ssid

Hi,
There is someone give me some helps about use Hostapd with hide SSID,
because when i try to use it on my ap , my  wpa_supplicant  don't  scan  
ap.

I use:
wpa_supplicant: 0.3.8
hostapd: 0.3.7
hostap driver 0.2.5
firmware  v1.8.4  PRISM III
