Why would you want to do this? Based on configuration, wpa_supplicant
may be controlling the association and in all configurations, it is
taking care of EAPOL processing. Having more than one entity trying to
do this kind of tasks at the same time using the same resource (the
network interface) would lead to interesting end results..

Yes, as long as the driver supports this, wpa_supplicant works in this
kind of configuration.
