Furthermore, the second-level support person I ended up talking to
stated that WPA is an "optional feature" and that as such they won't
support it.
I doubt they even did any QA on it, given its apparent failure to
complete the keying protocol as described previously in this thread, not
just with wpa_supplicant but with WinXP SP2 too.
A new netgear WAG302 worked without a hitch.
