wpa_supplicant and ifupdown scripts

Hey

I was just wondering if it is possible to have wpa_supplicant (running
as background daemon) exec some part of the ifupdown scripts
available?
I would really like to have ifup or dhclient run once i get connected to an AP.
Is this possible? Will it be in the future?
