problems running ndis.events (winXP SP2)...

Greetings,

According to README-Windows.txt doc, before running wpa_supplicant,
one must start NDIS event.

So, when using cygwin regardless of version of
wpa_supplicant-windows-bin-0.3.9.zip (even tried 0.4.2), running
ndis_events results in:

ndis_events.exe
Connected to ROOT\WMI
Failed to register async notifications

What does it mean and how do I get around it?

I've got winpcap v3.1 beta 4 installed and the firmware of my card is:

primary: 1.1.1
station: 1.7.4
