Hi,
I have two computers with Ubuntu 5.11 and kernel 2.6.10. In both of them I
have two PCMCIA slots that runs with the module i82365.
I have four PCMCIAs with chipset "Prism2" as the followings:
- 1 "NETGEAR MA401RA Wireless PC" with firmware
PRI: v1.0.7
STA: v1.3.6
- 1 "CONCEPTRONIC CON11C" with firmware
PRI: v0.3.0
STA: v1.5.6
- 2 "ALLIED TELESYN AT-WCL452" with firmware
PRI: v1.1.0
STA: v1.4.9
The first two PCMCIA cards work well in both computers.
The problem is with the two "Allied Telesyn" cards. They don't work well in
any computer, indistinctly of the order I put them. If I combine them with
a Netgear or with an Conceptronic, they continue without working properly.
If I put an Allied in one computer and I do an "iwconfig", it doesn't appear
all the parameters as you can see:
#root at zalux1:~ # iwconfig
#
#wifi1 IEEE 802.11-DS Mode:Ad-Hoc
# Encryption key:off
#
#wlan1 IEEE 802.11-DS Mode:Ad-Hoc
# Encryption key:off
# Link Quality:67/70 Signal level:-23 dBm Noise level:-90 dBm
# Rx invalid nwid:0 Rx invalid crypt:0 Rx invalid frag:0
# Tx excessive retries:0 Invalid misc:4 Missed beacon:0
Furthermore, it doesn't let me change any parameter with "iwconfig":
#root at zalux1:~ # iwconfig wlan1 essid wireless
#Error for wireless request "Set ESSID" (8B1A) :
# SET failed on device wlan1 ; Invalid argument.
When I plug the "Allied", if I do "dmesg" it appears the following (it
always appears when there is another pcmcia card in the computer and I put
the "Allied" as the second one):
#wlan1: hfa384x_cmd: entry still in list? (entry=c52904e0, type=0, res=-1)
#wlan1: hfa384x_cmd: interrupted; err=-110
#wlan1: hfa384x_get_rid: CMDCODE_ACCESS failed (res=-110, rid=fc82, len=2)
#wlan1: hfa384x_cmd_issue: cmd reg was busy for 5000 usec
#wlan1: hfa384x_cmd_issue - timeout - reg=0x8021
#wlan1: hfa384x_cmd: entry still in list? (entry=c52904e0, type=0, res=-1)

#wlan1: hfa384x_cmd: entry still in list? (entry=c52904e0, type=0, res=-1)
#wlan1: hfa384x_cmd: interrupted; err=-110
#wlan1: hfa384x_get_rid: CMDCODE_ACCESS failed (res=-110, rid=fd48, len=2)
Does anyone see the problem?
Thanks,
