Can D-link DWL122 wireless USB adapter be used as an AP?

I use linux-waln-ng driver and can't change the mode with iwconfig command.I change the bsstype(infrastructure/independent/any) with wlanctl-ng command.I think the infrastructure is the same as master mode.Right?
