Hmmm, from the website, http://www.star-os.com/credits.php
Software that has been developed in-house, and is not covered by GPL:
Package / Application
Wireless drivers for: Intersil Prism 2.0, 2.5, 3.0, Indigo and Duette
cards, Agere hermes & Ruby cards, Teletronics WL2400 2MB cards, ADMtek
8211 802.11b cards, Atheros 802.11a/b/g cards.
Our Wireless drivers are not GPL, however here are some GPL alternatives:
Open Source Project License Download
Prism 2/2.5 Access Point support (HostAP) GPL hostap.epitest.fi

Good question. What StarOS offers above your own linux distro is basically
an invoice :)
That might be a little unfair, they are basically a distribution packager
and offer support. Just like RedHat; Suse; Mandrake, except specialised
for wireless networking. By writing their own drivers though they seem
to be falling behind the curve. It's hard to keep up with good open

Fair point. Was really just probing for user experiences with different
versions of the PRISM chipset.

Yes. Thanks Ged. We are going to investigate using a free linux distro
