Preparations for 0.2.5 release

I'm hoping to make a new release from the stable 0.2.x branch shortly.
This is a bug fix -only version with number of fixes backported from the
development branch. I just made 0.2.5-pre1 version available for
testing. Please let me know if you notice any issues with this or think
that there are some issues with the code that should be fixed before
0.2.5 release.
