crosscompiling hostapd for madwiwi

Hi,

I've a strange issue with crosscompiling the hostapd for usage with 
madwifi.
My target is i386-uclibc, using the uClibc buildroot. Compiling works 
fine. But the resulting binary exits with status 1 on startup, just after 
reading the config file (according to ltrace)

Now I compiled it on my target directly without crosscompiling, its 
working! Same sources, same config!

Any idea what the reason might bee?
