signal strength value with prism 3

Hi,
I was developing a kind of sniffer to meassure the signal strength value from client frames, the problem is that I was using a prism 2/2.5 chipset and it is going to be sold out. It is not going to be produced anymore. The shop I was buying the wireless cards from is producing the cards with the prism 3 chipset. Is it possible to monitore the signal strength value with this chipset?
