Problem while setting beacon_int

Dear team ,
While setting the beacon interval using the command
" iwpriv wlan0 prism2_param beacon_int 3" ,
I got the error saying
 "Interface doesn't accept private ioctl...
prism2_param(8BE0): Operation not supported"

Not only for beacon interval setting , for all prism2_param commands, 
this error is comming. Does any one knows how to solve this ?
