Logical MAC Ports

Dear All,
The Intersil's Driver Programmers Manual mentions the concept of Logical MAC Ports in various sections.
These ports range from 0 to 6. It is mentioned in a cryptic way that Port Number 0 is for Connection to BSS and Port number 1-6 are for AP functionality.
The current HostAP Driver code enables port 0 for all communication (both transmission and reception). Does it mean that ports 1-6 are to be used for Firmware based APs and not Hostbased APs? Or still there is scope for using these ports when the AP is Host based?
Thanks & Regards,
Miss. Gargi Dadhich
