thanks for the answers! I have been unable to suppress Beacons, as I expected.
If I remember right the standard says they're compulsory... and Jouni, it's
correct that a value of 65535 is like 4096. A ethereal run shows that beacons
are sent every 4.2 secs (approx).

If I switch to a mode other than Master I have other issues coming up, as
I outlined in a previous mail (bssid field being altered by -I guess- the
firmware).

You spoke about "sources of the firmware": are they available somewhere?
Is there a legal way to obtain them (perhaps on a NDA)? All what I have
now is the source code of the driver, but not of the firmware.
