Centrino wireless slow speed problem

We have found some speed problems with hostap (v0.2.5) based prism2/2.5 access
points and Intel(R) PRO/Wireless LAN 2100 3B Mini PCI Adapter (Centrino) running
under Windows Xp (latest drivers from Intel). The link speed AP-->Xp seems to be
reasonable, but the link speed Xp-->AP seems to be 2..10 times slower. The WEP
encryption has no effect to this. The client is close to the AP (=good signal
strenght).

I don't know if this is Centrino specific problem or not. Any experiences with this
? Any ideas how to solve this problem?
