I've seen a couple of questions regarding dhcp, IPv6 etc. lately.
Perhaps somebody should add an entry to the FAQ, like:

Q: Can I use dhcp(d), IPv6, multicast ... with HostAP?

A: Yes.
   HostAP is wireless ethernet, so it can do exactly the same things
   that (wired) ethernet can do, and more.
