You need to have a firmware greater that (I think) 1.5.0 or something
like that. The latest should do it. Also, when you say not working,
what do you mean? Did you manage to create the wds interfaceses?
What interface did you assign the IP addresses to? Here is what you
should do (assuming you have a station firmware that works for you):

AP-1
-------
iwconfig wlan0 mode master
iwconfig wlan0 channel 6
iwpriv wlan0 wds_add 00:60:B3:7A:1B:45
ifconfig wlan0wds0 192.168.41.45

AP-2
-------
iwconfig wlan0 mode master
iwconfig wlan0 channel 6
iwpriv wlan0 wds_add 00:60:B3:76:9E:8A
ifconfig wlan0wds0 192.168.41.252
ping 192.168.42.45

At this point you should be pinging AP-1 through wds. In the end what
you probably looking for is to add the wds interface, the wlan
interface, and the ethernet interface to a bridge (assign the IP
address to the bridge interface not any of the enslaved interfaces)
and turn on stp to be sure you don't get a loop.
