problem with 802.1x

hello everybody,
i am trying to authenticate winxp supplicant using hostap driver.but i m 
facing some problems.
the part of hostapd configuration file is as follows

macaddr_acl=2
accept_mac-file=/etc/hostapd.conf

auth_algs=0
iee8021x=1
minimal_eap=0
eap_message=hello

own_ip_addr=192.x.x.x
auth_server_addr=192.x.x.x
auth_server_port=x
auth_server_shared_secret=xxxxxxxx

again i start hostapd demaon.it starts well without giving erroe.
but when i configured winxp to support EAP-MD5 and try to associate with 
hostap it gives "connection unavailable"

is any wrong with configuration file?
plz sombody help me
