hostap driver configuration

Hello,

I'm new to hostap and have to use it for development of a protocol. So I
would like to know if there is any way to set the cards retransmission rate
for station to statiion messages to a specific value or turn it off? And can
I access and modify the IEEE 802.11 header fields in the packets?
Also I have the same question if there is some more detailed documentation
for the driver code to understand it better?
