Problems with WEP encryption

Hi,
I just got 2 Siemens Intersil wlan cards. One pci (plx) which is in the
desktop runs with hostap, the other pcmcia in the notebook with either
orinoco or linux-wlan-ng drivers (which was suggested by the hostap
documentation if one doesn't want the hostap mode).
Without WEP encryption everything runs fine. But turning on WEP on both
computers breaks all traffic (even a ping). The green led on the card is
still not flashing but constantly on implying the cards are still associated.
This happens with orinoco and linux-wlan-ng driver as well. I looked through
the archives but most people who had trouble with WEP had it during dynamic
negotiation or with Windows based programs.
I know that WEP is not the safest thing. But I am still eperimenting and also
want to get my notbook in other wlans which use WEP. To search for problems
systematically I first want to get the stuff running at home.
I read quite some docs but am still new to wlan. the hostap_wep module is
loaded when I got dot encryption via iwconfig wlan0 enc "104Bitkey"
I also checked the key. (I copied them to a file and included them via cut'n
paste to not make a mistake here).
I attach the kernel messages below. Does anybody have any idea?
Thanks for any help,
Roland
