Questions concerning firmware and one problem report

Hello!

I just switched from orinoco to hostap drivers as it supports scanning
and let me use ifplugd/ifroamd/waproamd.

I was reading through the pages on hostap and thought about firmware
tests: My card infos gives:
NICID: id=0x8022 v1.0.0 (PRISM III Mini-PCI (SST parallel flash))
PRIID: id=0x0015 v1.1.1
STAID: id=0x001f v1.5.6 (station firmware)

Would it make use to upgrade to firmware 1.7.4, which file should I use
(I didn't found the 8022 in the IDtable).


Ok, now for the problem report: When I booted my laptop today I couldn't
connect with the hostap driver: THe following is in my log file after
the usual ifplugd/ifscout/etc lines:

Now I disabled all the ifplugd etc stuff and did it the non-automatic
way (ifconfig, iwconfig) and didn't succeed either.

Then I unloaded the hostap modules, loaded the orinoco drivers,
connected, worked, unloaded the orinoco drivers, loaded hostap drivers,
and voila, it worked. So it may be that there is an initialization
error? Is this possible?
