ifup?!

Ok, I have tried everything I know, I am at my wits end. (And the answer
is probably really simple)
I am using a Netgear MA311 PCI card on a RedHat 8 system. I have
hostap_pci installed, and the card is set up as wlan0. I can do an
iwconfig and the card gets my ESSID and I have a link quality of 92/92.
So, I am pretty confident that the card is working.
However, when I do "ifup wlan0", it says "Determining IP info..." (DHCP)
but then it fails.
I am running an SMC Barricade and my laptop PCMCIA card has no problems
connecting.
In the log file for the SMC, instead of getting a log entry telling me
that something was hitting it as a DHCP request, I get simply:
* 000095B2F94A3
No date/time or anything...
Any ideas? I don't know what else to do. Below are the config scripts
that I have, am I missing something???
Thanks!!!
Brent
