Module errors on install

Hi,
	I'm getting unresolved module errors whilst trying to install
hostap.  I've installed the kernel (2.4.18) myself, and tried both with
and without the config_modversions and still I get the same errors.
	These errors are unresolved in pppoe, sound, ipx, and hostap
itself.
	linux-wlan-ng works with my network card in adhoc mode, so I know
there is no problem there.  Can anybody suggest what is causing these
errors?
