OK. I changed COR sreset to use different base value for COR register.
This may or may not help with the timeout. Anyway, I changed the code to
ignore that "first command failed" verification if no_primary is set. In
other words, the current CVS version should still continue even if the
card doesn't show any signs of life at this point. I don't know whether
this is enough, but at least it is something new to try.
