a question about sniffer

hi,all

I want to dump the raw 802.11 frame(especially data type) and the ip layer header in my file , I set the DWL-650 card in monitor mode by "iwpriv wlan0 monitor 2",but I feel the number of  data frame is less than the real packets that I send from another pc.And how can I dump the upper layer infomation (eg. IP layer).Could you give me some suggestion?
