supprting WEP and non-WEP at the same time?

Is it positive to let an AP accep WEP and non-WEP connection
at the same time?  Is there a commercial AP which can do this?

I would think it might be possible to do this with hostap, but I like
to get some pointers ....

This idea just comes to me.  I think it might be actually interesting
to have this feature.  In some sense, WEP or not should be a user
selectable feature.
