Does... HostAP(AP)-to-HostAP(Client) setup work?

Hi,
   I have already sent 2 emails on this issue, but in vain!

   I am using hostap-2002-10-12 (i.e. latest version) for both Client and
AP. The setup that I use is  HostAP(AP)-to-HostAP(Client). Association FAILS
in
this setup.

HostAP in Managed mode goes on scanning for access points in its radio range
forever and
never associates with hostap in Master mode.

Details of the pcmcia cards and tools used in this setup
	:> hostap-2002-10-12
	:> pcmcia-cs-3.1.34
 	:> wireless-tools.24
      :> RedHat Linux  7.2,
	:> kernel version 2.4.7-10

I appreciate any info of this issue!
