Very strange problems with a Compaq and Hostap

This is very strange, and the first time I see it. It seems hostap cannot 
initialize the pcmcia card. It show the following messages:

What does it mean?

The server is a COmpaq Proliant 330, SMP capable but with just one CPU. The 
BIOS is very strange, IRQs must be assigned by hand...

Does anyone konws is this a Linux IO-APIC related problem (it's enabled)?
